The Disabilities Foundation of Charleston County is the 501(c)(3) charitable organization established to support the programs and services of DBCC. Originally called Hope Foundation, the Disabilities Foundation develops supplemental sources of funding to augment the state and federal money available through Medicaid and SCDDSN. Medicaid and state resources are limited, and often do not meet all the needs of the individuals. Immediate, critical needs of individuals and families that cannot be met through other funding sources may be funded from Foundation resources.
